WHO WE ARE

Holistic Philosophy

Acupuncture is the ancient Asian practice of balancing meridians that run through the body. It can reduce pain and inflammation and generate a sense of well-being within the body. Together with Herbal Medicine, it can treat a number of symptoms including headaches, sciatica, joint pain, muscle tension and irregular menses.

The Wellness Point offers a variety of modalities within each treatment, individualized for each patient. Licensed Acupuncturist, Kelly O'Connor earned her Doctorate of Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California. She learned numerous types of Acupuncture theories from some of the most renowned Acupuncturists in the world. She is able to think outside of the box while treating patients, relying on a mixture of new research and ancient theory.

  • Does Acupuncture Hurt?
Acupuncture needles are tiny (about three strands of hair). Many people won't feel the needle at all, while others may feel a small pinch as the needle moves through the top layers of skin.
  • Who can get acupuncture?
Everyone. Acupuncture modalities can be altered for each individual, we use acupuncture on children of all ages. If children are scared it will hurt, we will use other techniques to stimulate the Qi.
  • Is it safe?
Yes. The needles used are single use, sterile needles and are safely discarded after each treatment. Your acupuncturist will take a thorough health history to ensure your treatment will be safe for you. Things that are important to tell your acupuncturist include pregnancy, pacemakers, heart conditions and blood thinning medications.
